1.) E-Z Money — The BIG Story
Richard Branson reached space on Sunday morning before gliding back to Earth and landing safely. This was the final test for Virgin Galactic, flying with a full crew 53 miles above the planet’s surface. The space tourism company plans to kick off commercial missions in 2022. Branson also hung out pre-flight with his billionaire-bro Elon Musk at 3 AM. Many expect $SPCE stock to remain volatile this week but it has very positive MEMEntum on HypeEquity. 2.) “To the Moon” — Retail Investing
Meme stocks are finally convincing the mainstream that they are here to stay. Yahoo Finance’s Andy Serwer attributed Robinhood’s free-trading, fractional shares, and the social community r/WallStreetBets to the rise and permanence of the meme stock phenomenon. This week many analysts like Clover Health. $CLOV dropped -24% last week and is affordable again at nearly $9/share.
3.) “The Cypher” — Crypto Investing
Bitcoin and especially Ethereum struggled last week and signs are pointing to a more bearish market. China continues to regulate the space and has thrown out computers necessary for mining cryptocurrency. Recently, both $BTC and $ETH have had stable floors at $30k and $2k respectively. Some believe $ETH will go below $2K this week.
4.) “Straight Cash” — Sports Betting
L had a very good sports betting week. The Bucks could still win in 6 (More likely Suns in 7 like J said), his Euro 2020 bets came through with all three of semis and finals bets winning, and Djokovic winning Wimbledon (bets on Quarters, Semis, & Final). Unfortunately, L lost on McGregor and Mickelson/Brady. Brady is certainly not the GOAT in golf. That brought his total weekly betting record to 6–2–1. This week it’s all about the NBA Finals & the Open Championship. Check out this deep dive on the most likely winner of the Open Championship. L is placing low-level bets on a trio of Americans: Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, & Jordan Spieth.
5.) “The Alternatives” — NFTs, ESGs, & More!
NFT sales volume surged to $2.5 billion in the first half of 2021. This increase in revenue came from nearly a dead stop last summer. Now, Orioles slugger Trey Mancini will release several new tokens during the Home Run Derby. The NFTs were designed with BitBoy Crypto and will benefit Mancini’s cancer foundation.
